Plotline Library – Terms of Use

1. Account Registration and Security

• Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to create an account on Plotline Library.
• Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to update your details as necessary.

2. Intellectual Property & Content Policy

A. Original Fiction & Fanfiction Policy

Plotline Library supports authors of original serialized fiction and non-commercial fanfiction (transformational creative works). We do not permit the uploading or republishing of public domain books, copy-pasted novel archives, or unauthorized third-party commercial works.

• Original Fiction: Authors retain full, exclusive copyright ownership of their original characters, worlds, and text.
• Fanfiction & Derivative Works: Authors creating fanfiction retain copyright solely over their original prose and additions. Fanfiction posted on Plotline Library must remain non-commercial and respect rights-holder intellectual property.

B. Platform License Grant

• By publishing or submitting content (including webnovels, fanfiction, chapters, cover art, comments, and reviews) to Plotline Library, you grant the Platform a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to host, store, display, reformat, cache, perform, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating, promoting, and maintaining the Platform on plotlinelib.com.
• This license remains active for as long as your content is hosted on Plotline Library. If you unpublish or delete your story/account, Plotline Library will make reasonable efforts to remove the content from active display, though cached or backup copies may persist for a limited period for operational purposes.

3. User Conduct & Acceptable Use

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities on Plotline Library:

• Copyright Infringement & Public Domain Dumping: Uploading, re-hosting, or copying third-party commercial novels, public domain texts, or artwork you do not have permission to post.
• Prohibited Content: Posting content that promotes hate speech, severe harassment, illegal activity, or exploitation.
• Automated Scraping & Data Mining: Accessing, harvesting, scraping, or mining text, comments, data, or user profiles from the Platform using automated tools (including bots, crawlers, scripts, or AI training pipelines) without express written permission from Plotline Library.
• Platform Manipulation: Engaging in artificial view-counting schemes, automated botting, spamming, review-bombing, or interfering with reading analytics and cooldown systems.
• Security Interference: Attempting to breach, probe, or compromise the security, infrastructure, or source code of Plotline Library.

4. Reader Interactions & Moderation

• Comments & Reviews: Readers may leave comments, ratings, and reviews on published works. Comments must remain respectful and adhere to community standards.
• Moderation Rights: Plotline Library reserves the right, but is not obligated, to monitor, hide, edit, or delete any comment, review, or content that violates these Terms or is deemed disruptive to the community.

5. Account Suspension and Termination

• Termination by You: You may stop using the Platform or delete your account at any time through your account settings.
• Termination by Plotline Library: Plotline Library reserves the right to suspend, disable, or permanently terminate your account or access to the Platform at its sole discretion, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or infringe upon third-party intellectual property rights.

6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

• "As-Is" Provision:Plotline Library is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or continuous, uninterrupted availability.
• Content Disclaimer: The views and opinions expressed in user-submitted works, fanfiction, comments, or reviews belong solely to their respective authors and do not reflect the views of Plotline Library.
• Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Plotline Library and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, story drafts, or traffic resulting from your use of or inability to use the Platform.

7. Changes to These Terms

Plotline Library reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Use at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document or posting a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of Plotline Library after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
